D. McDonough – Obama’s Guiding Lite, weight

So just who is guiding Obama on Middle Eastern foreign affairs? You would expect that the ’smartest president ever’ would have the wisest of wise advising him. That’s a reasonable expectation, right?
As with most things involving Obama….reality belies expectations. Obama does not have the best and brightest advising him… instead, Obama has chosen to surround himself with a staff of over zealous loyalists who are lite on experience but full of ideology… gee that sounds familiar. If experience, as the expression goes, is the best teacher, then Obama’s inner group have yet to matriculate - for they’re still sitting inside the Registrar’s office at the U of Experience.
With little to no experience guiding them, everything becomes a first-impression type situation to Obama’s inner crew. To the point, Henry Kissinger reportedly, refers to Obama’s group of advisers as, “kids.” That sure is a comforting thought. I bet Kissinger openly cringes when he has occasion to visit the Obama White House. Probably the last time Kissinger cringed while inside the White House was during the Carter foray; a foray of exacting ineptitude. Exacting ineptitude is the shared nexus between the Carter and Obama administrations. That’s a post-election observation the majority of Americans are fast making.
One of Obama’s closest advisers is his Deputy National Security Adviser. The person acting the part of Deputy National Security Adviser is one Denis McDonough. While McDonough enjoys the credentials of a well educated 41 year old, he has sparse work experience. Working on the hill as a legislative aide before transferring to a liberal think tank before campaigning for Obama before becoming Deputy National Security Adviser, is good for McDonough but embarrassing to the position which he holds. Next time you go out to a nice restaurant, consider ordering a few lite-calorie apertivos in lieu of a main entree, in fact from now on, try doing this and just keep convincing yourself you ate a full meal. You could call it the McDonough approach. That’s the approach of the Obama White House when it comes to appetizers, I mean advisers.
Denis McDonough is the archetype of the Obama staffer. Young, educated, loyal beyond reason and full of piss and vinegar idealism – - – fully ready to piss all over countervailing political attitudes and any hint of criticism. McDonough is not only the archetypal staffer but he is the, Alpha male within the inner squad. McDonough will bully democratic politicians and journalists if they dare go against Obama.
McDonough has a reputation around D.C. – as a rabid mind-fixer in his mission to ‘set the record straight’ with democratic politicians and mainstream media types, who dare veer off the political reservation. It’s rather humorous in a way to see a glorified political functionary like McDonough act the part of a seasoned and experienced political heavyweight. McDonough was promoted out of ideological loyalty over convention. Try telling McDonough that and he’ll likely piss ideological vinegar all over you. But the thing with McDonough’s verbal piss, it doesn’t stain things, it can’t… it’s too inexperienced.
Above said, guess who is guiding Obama on the crisis in Egypt and the pending melt-down in the Middle East? If you guessed the low cal aperitivo named Denis McDonough, you would be correct. The United States’ official response to the crisis in Egypt has so far been one big massive embarrassment. President Obama is getting bad advice; advice that is fueling his ideological ego; advice that is clearly immature in nature and devoid of geopolitical experience. But what can we expect, inexperience and arrogance begets inexperience and arrogance.
