SUV Daily Caller Blogger, Jim Treacher 1 Year Post State Dept. Hit & Run

By Lloyd Catlin (Syndicate 34, Clarion Advisory) 3-30-11

The purveyor over here at Clarion Advisory, that would be Brice Buckley, asked me to let the Daily Caller’s Jim Treacher know that we’ll be sending him one of the purveyor’s favorite brands of scotch, a bottle of single-malt Glenfarcas.

In case you don’t know Treacher’s story… I’ll fill you in on the details.  Treacher is one of the veterans over at the political powerhouse blog, The Daily Caller and about a year or so back while minding his own business ambulating around D.C., a State Department SUV clipped Treacher and tore up poor Treach’s knee, to the extent Treach had to have major surgery with the placement of hardware to support his once strong patella.

The SUV that clipped Treacher was travelling at rate in an obviously careless fashion, similar to how those under the present administration work out of Foggy Bottom, and to add insult to injury, the folks over at State essentially tried to make Treach sign a global release while Treach lay in the hospital on a morphine drip drifting in and out reality.  Oh, and the State Department also managed to have the authorities issue Treach a jaywalking ticket while he was in the E.R. with a broken knee … even though the State Department SUV had made an illegal u-turn and rammed Treach while he walked on green in a crossing zone.  Go figure.

Treach is a great blogger and now is in constant pain post-accident with a State Department that is persona non grata to his plight… at least Treach has a carbon copy of the full-release he signed while in a near catatonic state.  At least Treach has that going for him… and possibly an IRS audit.

We wish Treach a post-State Department Ramming Recovery and all the best.  This fella’s in pain and has been for over a year while the gum shoe droids over at State are wheeling around foot-loose and fancy free.

Get well Treach, we mean it.

  2. Thanks for the kind words. I didn’t sign any release, though, not sure where you got that…

  4. He didn’t say you signed it, he said they TRIED to get you to sign it. Where he got the report he hasn’t said. In any case, get well soon, and may the scofflaws at the State Department get what’s coming to them.
Think it may have been Hillary?

Yes, in the third paragraph, this article does say that the IRS tried to get Jim Treacher to sign a release while he was in the hospital.

However, if you continue reading all the way to the next paragraph, you will discover these words:
‘ at least Treach has a carbon copy of the full-release ***he signed*** while in a near catatonic state.’ (my emphasis)

It’s irritating when people don’t bother to read, or make sufficient effort to comprehend the meaning of the text that their eyes scan over. It’s also irritating when people argue with strangers over things that do not really affect them, which I find myself doing now.

I’m bothering to comment here only because I was impressed that Jim Treacher would respond personally.

    Best regards, Peter Warner.

  12. Sorry, I made an error: I should have written:

‘Yes, in the third paragraph, this article does say that the State Department tried to get Jim Treacher to sign a release while he was in the hospital.’

Please pardon the error. If I’m going to make a fool of myself, I should at least try to be polite about it.

    Best regards, Peter Warner.

  18. Be well Treacher. I certainly hope you can sue the s**t out of the State Department. They deserve it.
