Food Stamp Graph… gulp
By Brice Buckley (Editor-at-Large, Clarion Advisory) 4-02-11
According to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), 44,187,831 people were on food stamps at the beginning of February.
SNAP rolls up to the USDA and they sure do make neat graphs don’t they? You know at least they’re graphing out in red, white & blue… SNAP should get together with the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS publishes data on unemployment and inflation, among other things. Maybe we could combine SNAP and the BLS into one agency called, S-C-R-E-W-E-D.

[...] Says Bruce Buckley at The Clarion Advisory: [...]
Zero Hedge has article about this. I put the link as my website.
Not only is participation at an all-time high, but “the average monthly benefit on a per person and per household basis, has been declining for two years straight and is now at the lowest it has been since April 2009.”
[...] Fox Piven must look at graphs like this one and jump for joy. Just look at how many Americans are now dependent on the government for [...]
That is the picture of an Obama economic recovery right there.
[...] Obama was inaugurated in January 2009, the number of Americans on food stamps has increased from 32 million to 44 million. Restaurants are contemplating price increases due to the sharp rise in grocery prices. And crude [...]
Take you graph back 2 years to the start of Pelosi and Reid. Unemployment was 4.7% and the deficit 165 billion. As both grow, the private sector loses.
The SNAP program began in 1939; I’d be interested in seeing participation percentages going all the way back. Just for a broader perspective.
We need to place limits on these programs. We can’t support participants forever. Break the cycle.
I’m thinking if we don’t change the change with real change there won’t be any change to change from. Obummer policies are destructive and he doesn’t seem to care very much. The 14% graph is his base for 2012 and the house should introduce a bill to exempt people on government assistance from voting. Call it the Conflict of Interest Act. It will get some headlines and put the issue front and center where we can make the case of Obama spending policy and jobless economy.
Seems to me that this may be a better gage to judge the economy that the unemployment figures
Spring is here plant a vegetable garden in your back yard and share with your family and freinds. Plant a garden in Jesus name and see God our creater give an increase through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Democrats see this as a plus, more and more people on the dole means more votes and MORE POWER.
Are we sure it is “The Number of Americans” or is it the entire population? Here in Washington State it appears up to 150,000 Illegals could be included. You make the call!
NOW CONFIRM TO ME THAT WE ARE NOT BECOMING A WELFARE STATE/NATION
Its all Bush’s fault
[...] Economic recovery? Yeah right! More and more people are dependent upon food stamps then ever before. They say a picture is worth a thousand words well this one speaks millions. Almost 44 million to be exact. Amplify’d from clarionadvisory.com [...]
And Obama Thinks he deserves re-election ?

ilubamerica suggest that we should pass a law forbidding people that get public assistance from voting, how stupid. This would also mean the congress itself, since all their benefits come from the government too. As an example, I have stage 4 cancer ( diagnosed 2009) and can’t return to work yet due to complications from surgery. I am still fighting with my employer (of 20+yrs) to pay me for my STD and LTD benefits (I paid faithfully every paycheck 20+yrs), in the meantime I get food stamps ($27 p/wk), so ilubamerica thinks I should not be allowed to vote? What an insult not just to me but all Americans. His/her way would also affect our military, a lot of them get assistance too.
Maybe we need one exempting lunatics like ilubamerica.
The food stamp graph is an eye opener, but doesn’t tell the whole story, you see millions get temporary help and once they get back on their feet, they are cut off. This temporary help can be as short as 1 month, but the graph does not separate them or show how many are “lifers” (people on for 5,10,20+ yrs) that would be your real eye opener.
This is what you get when you OUT-SOURCE all the jobs to foreign countries. No work, no money, and we still need to feed our people. If we all just start buying AMERICAN PRODUCTS ONLY we can turn this trend around.
